Affiliate FTC Disclosure Policy
Last Updated: August 2026
This policy is part of the BMHS Affiliate Program Agreement. When sharing your unique BMHS affiliate link on social media, blogs, emails, or websites, you must include a clear and conspicuous disclosure so your audience knows you earn a commission on registrations.
1. Disclosure Rules
- Be Clear & Direct: State clearly that you earn a referral fee if someone registers using your link.
- Make It Unmissable: The disclosure must appear before or immediately next to the link/call-to-action, not hidden at the bottom of a page or buried in hashtags.
- Keep It Plain: Do not use obscure terms like "afflink" or "collab" without context.
2. Approved Disclosure Examples
Social Media (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook)
- "I earn a referral commission if you register for BMHS using my link below!"
- "Ad: Register for the 10th Anniversary Black Mental Health Symposium using my affiliate link."
- Included hashtags: #Ad, #BMHS2026, #AffiliateLink — hashtags like #Ad should appear at the very beginning or near the link.
Email Newsletters & Blog Posts
- "Disclosure: I am an affiliate promoter for the Black Mental Health Symposium. If you register through my link, I receive a 20% referral commission at no extra cost to you."
Unsure whether your disclosure is sufficient? When in doubt, say it plainly and put it next to the link. Questions? Contact us through blackmhsymposium.com.
